  • Near Horsethief Meadows we saw this great cloud rising over the hills to the east.
  • A run of classic Mercedes passed us. I think these are 190SL's. Everyone waved and liked being photographed.
  • Wild fire burning in Nevada just east of US 395. Called the Carter Springs Fire in Douglas County, NV, the fire briefly closed US 395 because of blowing smoke.
  • Monitor Pass looking to Antelope Valley

  • Eastward descent of Monitor Pass with Slinkard Wildlife Area on the right and beyond it the Little Antelope Wildlife Area.
  • Stand of aspen beginning to turn near Kitman Lake of California 108 east of the Marine Mountain Warfare Training Center.
  • Aspens turning along route 108 very near the Marine base.
  • Storm clouds ride the ridge of the Sweetwater Mountains. The Marine Mountain Warfare Center is in the middle distance.
  • Gate detail on the way to Twin Lakes SW of Bridgeport, CA.
  • Climbing Tioga Pass. About a 5% grade at this point at something over 9,000 feet.
  • Riding past Ellery Lake east of the entrance to Yosemite National Park.
